For Australian retail & merchandising
AI for the family-run shop — built by someone who's been on the floor.
Neurastruct builds AI workflows for Australian retailers, merchandisers, and family-run shops. From a founder who spent 20+ years on the supplier side of retail — timber fabrication, signage, fittings, fixtures, and display fit-outs for real shops competing with bigger players.
What we hear from Australian retailers
If any of these sound like a Tuesday afternoon for you, there's probably a workflow we can build to take it off your plate:
- Supplier price-list updates take hours — every supplier sends them differently (PDF, email, spreadsheet, fax), and someone has to retype them into your POS
- Stocktake reconciliation is a manual cross-check between what arrived, what was invoiced, and what the system says is on hand
- Product information lives in five places — store labels, your website, eBay, the marketplaces — and each one needs a slightly different version of the description
- Customer follow-ups (birthdays, restock alerts, "haven't seen you in a while") sit in a notebook or a spreadsheet, not actually happening
- You can feel the trends in your sales but can't extract the report you want — the POS gives you a summary, not the answer
Workflows we'd build first
Three retail workflows that pay back fast.
We haven't shipped a retail product yet — we've shipped slablogic for concreters. But the pattern transfers cleanly: messy inputs in, structured output, every step reviewed before it ships. Here's where retail typically pays back first.
Why a founder who's been in your shops matters.
Peter spent 20+ years on the supplier side of retail — timber fabrication, signage, fittings, fixtures, and retail display project delivery. That means two decades inside other people's shops: watching how retailers run their projects, talking to their suppliers, and seeing where the paperwork pain actually hides. The pain points above aren't guesses from a tech bro who read a Shopify report — they're patterns he watched cause delays, rework, and lost weekends for 20 years.
Add 16 years of enterprise account & project management with some of Australia's largest fleet retailers — the discipline of running real projects with real deadlines and real budgets, now applied to AI workflows for shops that don't have an IT department.
Not strictly retail? The pattern still fits.
These workflows generalise to almost any family-run business with a counter, an inventory, and a list of customers. We're actively talking with hospitality operators, hire businesses, and family-run service shops about similar patterns.
If you're a husband-wife operation, a multi-generation family business, or an owner-operator competing with chain-store budgets, the conversation's worth having.
Questions Australian retailers actually ask
We don't have an IT person — does this still work?
Yes — that's actually most of our clients. We set up the workflows; you and your team review the outputs in tools you already use (your POS, email, spreadsheets). No new software to learn.
Will the AI change prices in our shop without us seeing?
No. Nothing goes live without human review. The AI proposes the update; you approve before anything reaches your POS, website, or marketplaces.
Can it connect to our POS or inventory system?
Most modern POS systems (Shopify, Square, Lightspeed, Vend, Retail Express) have APIs we work with. For older or proprietary systems we extract data via export files or scheduled imports.
What about customer data and privacy?
All data stays in Australia, tenant-isolated. We never send customer data to public LLM providers without explicit per-tenant opt-in. APP-aligned by default. See the Trust Centre for the breakdown.
How quickly can we see value?
A typical retail Build is 2–4 weeks from kickoff. The supplier-price-list workflow usually shows real time savings within the first week of use.
